David Bruton makes $26K personal donation for childhood literacy programs

When David Bruton announced the launch of his namesake charitable foundation and Bruton’s Books in April, it marked the next phase in years of work to boost childhood literacy.

The Notre Dame grad, who was involved in tutoring throughout college and worked as a substitute teacher in Ohio during the 2011 NFL lockout, has remained immersed in promoting educational programs for youth in the Denver-metro area.

Earlier this month, Bruton announced a bike raffle in which all funds raised will go toward boosting childhood literacy programs through Bruton’s Books and Mile High United Way. The winner will get a customized Broncos Trek bicycle, complete with the team logo and colors, and many player signatures, including Peyton Manning, Bruton, Demaryius Thomas, Von Miller.
