BOULDER — The top of the mountain is always sweeter if you've felt rock bottom.
University of Colorado cornerback Ken Crawley was all smiles after an impressive showing during Wednesday's pro day, but his face immediately turned serious when he began to reflect on what happened four years ago.
Crawley was preparing to start his freshman year at CU when he received news that his best friend, who everyone called Gadgett, was murdered.
"It was a tragedy," said Crawley, now 23. "He was well-respected in the neighborhood that I'm from. That was a real rough time for me.
