The Denver Broncos will open their rookie minicamp on May 11th, and as of right now, the only quarterback eligible to participate is second-year player Chad Kelly.
Kelly, a polarizing seventh-round draft pick out of Ole Miss a year ago, was on the non-football injury list last year before ultimately going on injured reserve.
With a redshirt season last year, Kelly is ready to compete in 2018 and he will get a great opportunity to showcase his skills when the Broncos hold their minicamp this weekend.
Why is this a huge opportunity for Kelly?
He will get all or most of the reps and some significant extra work when the Broncos are deciding between him and Paxton Lynch for their backup spot behind Case Keenum.
