This is the GoPro before the GoPro, a camera device developed by General Dynamics, an aerospace and defense company now based in Virginia.
As Uni-Watch pointed out, on the side of the camera helmet is the “GD” logo and full “General Dynamics Astronautics” name.
In the 1950s, General Dynamics acquired Convair-Astronautics, a now-defunct rocket- and aircraft-building company. General Dynamics is now the product of many acquisitions and is one of the world’s largest defense contractors.
