ENGLEWOOD, Co. — The Denver Broncos have waived third-year defensive lineman Kenny Anunike and signed safety Ryan Murphy, who was with the team as recently as May 2, the team announced Monday morning.
Anunike, undrafted out of Duke in 2014, was a player the Broncos coaching staff liked a lot. The fact that he was kept around for this long despite only being able to make it on the field for three games should underline that. In the end, though, that fact would leave the Broncos with their hands tied. At a certain point, a guy has to bring value to the team on the field, and Anunike simply couldn’t prove to be able to do that.
