Broncos start cutting down roster ahead of Saturday’s deadline

The Broncos began the process of paring their roster to 53 players on Friday by making nine roster moves.

The team will not put out an official list until Saturday (the deadline is 2 p.m.), but sources told The Denver Post and confirmed reports by News9 on the following moves.

Released: Receivers Mark Chapman and Jordan Leslie, outside linebackers Antonio Simmons and Marcus Rush, guard Jeremiah Poutasi, defensive linemen DeQuinton Osborne and DeShawn Williams and cornerback Michael Hunter. The Broncos waived/injured cornerback Marcus Rios, who had a hip injury early in camp and missed the last two preseason games with a leg injury.
