The Broncos signed rookie guard Chris Muller on Tuesday to fill the spot vacated when they waived rookie center Erik Austell on Monday, per a NFL source.
Muller, 6-foot-6, 315 pounds, is a powerful guard who would seem to be a fit for the Broncos transition to a power scheme. He threw up an impressive 34 bench press reps of 225 pounds at his Rutgers Pro Day in March.
At this point, Muller is just one of many long-shot camp participants, but he could play himself into a position to earn a practice squad spot. He worked out for the Broncos prior to the NFL draft.
