Broncos secondary facing tall task in containing Derek Carr, Darren Waller and potent Raiders passing game

When it comes to slowing the Raiders’ passing game, Broncos coach Vic Fangio has his hands full Sunday.

Las Vegas quarterback Derek Carr and Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller highlight a passing attack that ranks fourth in yards per game at 298.4, while the Broncos are sixth in average passing yards allowed at 207.

Something has to give.

“(Waller) is one of the most special players in the league, regardless of position, and he’s a tough matchup for whoever has him,” said Fangio, who calls the defensive signals. “(Slot wideout Hunter) Renfroe is pretty good too, then you have (running back Josh) Jacobs to contend with, and (wideout Henry) Ruggs to contend with.
