I don’t think it’s unfair to say that the level of play, considering the contract, has been a point of controversy among fans. While Ben Powers has been without a doubt an upgrade over Dalton Risner for the Denver Broncos, his $52 million contract looms large over his head. At times he’s been inconsistent in the run game, with most of his issues coming up with inside zone, with a tendency to get beat inside.
His pass blocking was better this year, likely coming from a heightened level of experience along side Garett Bolles and Luke Wattenberg playing well.
