Broncos receive ‘really big’ Super Bowl rings in private ceremony

For one evening, the drama and acrimony of the Broncos’ offseason were put on hold.

Four months after winning Super Bowl 50, the team put the final exclamation point on its world championship season with a private ring ceremony Sunday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. And as defensive coordinator Wade Phillips expected, the rings are really big.

Resting in locked boxes on tables for each player was the jewelry, accessible only with the keys distributed by former Broncos Rod Smith, Shannon Sharpe and Terrell Davis, the last of whom spoke to the room filled with players, coaches and family members before the unveiling.
