Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur tests positive for COVID-19, will likely miss Sunday’s game

Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur will likely miss Sunday’s game against Philadelphia after testing positive for COVID-19, coach Vic Fangio said after practice Friday.

Coaches on the staff with offensive play-calling and/or coordinator experience include quarterbacks coach Mike Shula and running backs coach Curtis Modkins.

If Shurmur is unavailable, Shula is expected to relay play calls to quarterback Teddy Bridgewater on Sunday. Fangio declined to say who will call plays.

On the COVID-19/reserve list among the players are quarterback Drew Lock, inside linebacker Justin Strnad and cornerback Michael Ojemudia. Tight end Noah Fant and guard Netane Muti came off the list earlier this week.
