Broncos name Kelly Kleine executive director of football operations/special advisor to the general manager

Broncos general manager George Paton’s first front-office hire since joining the team in January is a history-making appointment.

Kelly Kleine was at the Broncos’ facility Monday to begin her role as executive director of football operations/special advisor to the general manager, the team announced.

Kleine’s role will include overseeing the video and equipment departments, helping Paton transition the Broncos to his draft grading scale and scouting.

Kleine, who joins the Broncos from the Minnesota Vikings, is believed to be the highest-ranking female in scouting in NFL history.

“Kelly is a rising star in the NFL, and we’re fortunate to add someone of her caliber to the Denver Broncos,” Paton said in a statement.
