Broncos Mailbag: Does team feel confident in any of their inside linebackers?

After picking up inside linebacker Todd Davis’ $5 million option for this year, should that be an indicator the Broncos won’t be going after a high-price player like Cory Littleton, Joe Schobert or Blake Martinez? Or should Alexander Johnson’s and Josey Jewell’s inexpensive contracts give hope we might finally address the position with a big name?

Following the opening hours of free agency, my lean was the Broncos were waiting for the market to settle down (translation: get less expensive) or wait until the draft to address inside linebacker. Don’t let Davis’ picked-up option fool you — he’s only guaranteed $500,000 of that deal, which gives the Broncos flexibility.
