Broncos looking young again, set interview with Derius Swinton for special teams coordinator

The Broncos’ other coordinator position took form Friday after the Jacksonville Jaguars hired Joe DeCamillis to be their special teams coach and Denver responded by lining up possible replacements.

Derius Swinton II, 31, the San Francisco 49ers’ special teams coordinator last season, interviewed with new Denver head coach Vance Joseph at Dove Valley on Friday for the same job, according to an NFL source.

Swinton was with the Broncos in 2013-14 as an assistant special teams coach, after he was hired by John Fox to work under coordinator Jeff Rodgers. Swinton, who was with Kansas City in 2012, replaced Keith Burns in Denver.
