Broncos lament non-delay of game call on Kansas City’s winning drive

Broncos players and coach Vance Joseph lamented the non-penalty call on Kansas City for delay of game during its game-winning touchdown drive.

On third-and-7 from the Broncos’ 46, quarterback Patrick Mahomes appeared to not get the snap before the play-clock hit “0.” That should have been a five-yard penalty, resulting in a third-and-12 play.

The play continued and Mahomes scrambled right to get away from the Broncos’ five-man pass rush. Down the right sideline, tight end Demetrius Harris got away from linebacker Shaq Barrett for a 35-yard gain with 1:54 remaining.

The non-penalty call is not under the challenge rules.
