Broncos' Jared Crick to have back surgery

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - When Denver Broncos coach Vance Joseph said this week the team wanted to get Jared Crick ready to be healthy "in the future,'' he meant well after this week.

Crick, who has practiced just twice since suffering a back injury in mid-August, will have back surgery sources confirmed to ESPN. Recovery time varies greatly with back surgeries, but Crick will likely be moved to injured reserve to see if he can return this season and the Broncos will sign former Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin.

Rubin was among the Seahawks' final roster cuts earlier this month after the team had traded for Sheldon Richardson.
