Broncos hit bye-week reset button aiming for second-half surge

After nine consecutive weeks of full football focus, the midseason bye provided the Broncos a necessary reprieve from the constants of NFL life, or as safety Su’a Cravens explained, “You get to step away from football and be a human for a little bit.”

Many Broncos returned to their college home turf. Others prioritized rare family time. That fun ended Monday, though, as players and coaches reconvened to figure out how to salvage a season sliding downhill. The Broncos (3-6) have lost six of their past seven games.

Good news? The Broncos face a trio of fellow league basement dwellers in the 49ers (2-7), Browns (3-6-1) and Raiders (1-8).
