At Nathaniel Hackett’s introductory news conference on Friday, Broncos general manager George Paton shot down the idea that luring Aaron Rodgers to Denver has anything to do with hiring Hackett as the team’s new head coach.
“Absolutely not,” Paton said.
Hackett, who spent the last three years as Green Bay’s offensive coordinator, said the Packers’ quarterback was “absolutely unbelievable” in his support throughout the Broncos’ exhaustive interview process which culminated in Hackett getting the job on Thursday.
“I’m thankful very much for (Rodgers),” Hackett said. “Coaching a man like that, the one thing I learned is, you better have an answer for every single question.
