Broncos’ Drew Lock on first start of 2021: “Now it’s time to put it all together and go show that I am a better quarterback than I was”

Despite losing the training camp quarterback battle to Teddy Bridgewater, Drew Lock never stopped believing he was capable of leading the Broncos offense.

Sunday provides Lock a chance to back up that belief as he starts in place of Teddy Bridgewater, whom coach Vic Fangio said will be unavailable for the divisional showdown against the Raiders in Las Vegas.

“I woke up with a big smile on my face (Wednesday) morning, being able to come out here and be the guy this week for this team,” Lock said. “There’s a lot that I’ve learned being in that backup role, and what exactly it takes to be able to come out and win a football game.
