Broncos DEs Jared Crick, Zach Kerr ruled out for season opener vs. Chargers

The Broncos will be without starting defensive end Jared Crick (back) and reserve Zach Kerr (knee) as they both continue to recover from injuries. Backup nose tackle Kyle Peko, who is still working his way back from a foot injury, is listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Chargers.

Kerr and Crick had been listed as day-to-day but both were absent from Friday’s practice and the team’s Saturday morning walkthrough.

Kerr has not practiced since injuring his knee in the team’s third preseason game against Green Bay, on Aug. 26. Crick suffered what coach Vance Joseph said were back spasms during training camp and did not play in the team’s last three preseason games.
