Broncos cornerback Chris Harris was not in attendance Tuesday for Day 1 of the Broncos’ voluntary offseason training program. In a text message to The Denver Post, Harris said: “Won’t be there.”
Since the end of last season, Harris, who has one year remaining on his contract, has been vocal in his desire to sign a long-term extension that carries him into his 30s and also delivers him a pay raise.
Harris’ salary cap number this year is $8.76 million, but in the last month he has seen the Broncos sign cornerback/safety Kareem Jackson and cornerback Bryce Callahan.
