Broncos Briefs: Rookie linebacker Josh Watson ready for “electrifying” debut

Broncos linebacker Josh Watson was told “literally right after practice,” Friday that he was being elevated to the active roster for Sunday’s game against Cleveland.

Watson takes the spot of Corey Nelson, who was placed on injured reserve (biceps).

An undrafted free agent from Colorado State, Watson had spent the first nine weeks on the practice squad.

“It’s a blessing,” he said. “There will be so much adrenaline, so much hunger, so much desire to get back on the field and compete with my teammates. It’s going to be electrifying.”

Watson made a team-high 20 tackles in the preseason but was waived.
