Broncos Briefs: Rare October cold game in forecast for Sunday

The forecast for Sunday’s Rams-Broncos game is a high of 29 degrees with an 80-percent chance of snow.

In team history, the Broncos have played only six October home games when the kickoff temperature was 35 degree or colder and only since 1997.

According to Pro Football Reference, those games were: 1969 vs. Kansas City (32.5 degrees) and Oakland (22.6, the coldest October NFL game in the database) in consecutive weeks; 1984 vs. Green Bay (32.2, night game), 1990 vs. Cleveland (32.5, night game), 1996 vs. Kansas City (33.3) and 2009 vs. New England (30).

“They’ve got to play in it as well,” Rams coach Sean McVay said.
