Broncos Briefs: Multi-year contract hasn’t changed Zach Kerr’s mindset

SEATTLE – Last year was a breakthrough for Broncos nose tackle Zach Kerr.

Kerr played in all 16 games for the first time and had a career-best 33 tackles. The Broncos responded by signing Kerr to a two-year, $5 million contract.

But Kerr is taking nothing for granted this preseason even though he should be viewed as the favorite to be the fourth defensive lineman behind starters Derek Wolfe, Adam Gotsis and Shelby Harris.

“Contract or not contract, it doesn’t really matter,” Kerr said after practice earlier this week.
