Broncos Break Super Bowl Record for Fewest Yards Gained in Win vs. Panthers

Defense was the reason why the Denver Broncos won their third Super Bowl championship in franchise history Sunday night, defeating the Carolina Panthers 24-10.

With one look at the numbers, you can see the Broncos needed a nearly perfect performance by their defense to earn the victory.

Denver's offense accumulated 194 total yards against the Panthers, the fewest by any winning team in Super Bowl history. The 2000 Baltimore Ravens previously held that distinction, per Chase Stuart of Football Perspective.

That 2000 Ravens team fielded one of the best defenses of all time.
