ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- While quarterback Peyton Manning was in Charlotte, N.C., Monday, getting a second opinion on his left foot injury, Denver Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said he wanted his 8-2 team to know "our direction'' in the week to come, and all involved started to go about the business of getting Brock Osweiler ready to start Sunday night against the New England Patriots.
Kubiak said Monday afternoon he spoke to Manning that morning and then told the Broncos players mid-day Osweiler would be behind center against the Patriots. Osweiler was 20-of-27 passing for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos’ 17-15 victory over the Chicago Bears, his first regular-season start since the Broncos selected him in the second round of the 2012 draft.
