Briefs: Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas still absent

Star receiver Demaryius Thomas, who has been offered a one-year deal worth $12.82 million as the team's designated franchise player, chose not to participate in offseason workouts while trying to negotiate a long-term deal.

"I'd rather him be here," Kubiak said. "But you understand the rules, understand the situation. As a coach, you deal with guys who are here."
