Just over a year ago, Brandon McManus was beginning what would be an intense kicking competition from training camp. He had come out of 2014 with little to show for it, basically used as a kickoff specialist and now needed to win the field goal kicking job. The 25-year-old barely edged out fellow kicker Connor Barth and went on a remarkable ride.
Flash forward one year and an incredible season later, McManus is the one and only kicker on the roster and a Super Bowl Champion to boot. After an offseason in which he received his gaudy Super Bowl 50 ring and even got a shout-out from President Barrack Obama, he has been less than stellar through the first five days of camp.
