Bill Bowlen’s lawsuit against trustees who run Broncos dismissed

The lawsuit filed by the brother of late Broncos owner Pat Bowlen against the three-person trust appointed to run the team was dismissed Thursday by Judge John E. Scipione in Arapahoe Country District Court.

Bill Bowlen filed the suit last October, asking then-Judge Charles Pratt to remove Broncos president/CEO Joe Ellis, team counsel Rich Slivka and local attorney Mary Kelly from their power of attorney duties. Pratt announced his retirement earlier this summer and Judge Scipione took over the case last week.

“We’re pleased the court has dismissed Bill Bowlen’s case in its entirety as we have requested from the beginning of the case,” Dan Reilly, attorney for the Patrick D.
