Each NFL team has several captains on each side of the ball (offense, defense, special teams). The Denver Broncos are going to be taking a different approach.
Head coach Vic Fangio said after practice on Monday that the team is going to have weekly-selected captains.
You would think that the best players would be selected for the year. That was usually the case in prior seasons. Now, however, whoever wants to be a captain will have to earn it.
I think that this is a great approach. Coach Fangio is not a guy who will just hand his players everything.
