Albert O’s Broncos debut encouraging entering Sunday’s game against Kansas City

Throughout last Sunday morning, Broncos tight end Albert Okwuegbunam was nervous and anxious, jumpy and wired — all understandable emotions given he was about to make his NFL debut.

They were all replaced by excitement on the third offensive play against the New England.

“As soon as I hit the field, it felt natural,” Okwuegbunam said. “I’ve been playing this game since I was 9 years old and what I feel most comfortable doing is being out there.”

Okwuegbunam — known as “Albert O” to fans and media and “Big O” to offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur — looked like a natural pass-catching tight end in the win over the Patriots.
