The Broncos have owned the playground that is the AFC West for the better part of the decade. The rest of the division has fought just to get a ride on the slide.
The division crown still goes through Denver, but with training camp near, the competition from top to bottom is likely to be the best since 2013 when three AFC West teams made the playoffs.
While the rest of the league was snatching away players from the defending Super Bowl champions’ roster, the Raiders, Chiefs and Chargers were loading up to overtake Denver. Kansas City has been the toughest competition for the Broncos of late, having finished second to their rival each of the past three seasons.
