Denver Broncos Work Out RB Trent Richardson, May Sign Him This Offseason

The Denver Broncos reportedly held a workout for free agent running back Trent Richardson today, according to Mike Klis of 9News:

Richardson, who was drafted with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, was cut in training camp by the Oakland Raiders. He has not played a snap this season.

Denver is solid at the running back position for the rest of this season with Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson splitting carries, but both have contracts that expire at the end of the season. The Broncos will likely have Richardson back in for another workout this summer if they chose to pursue him as a free agent.

Richardson has rushed for 2,032 yards in his three season with the Browns and Indianapolis Colts, averaging 3.3 yards per carry. Most of his production came in his rookie season, where he ran for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns.
