USMNT, promising and young, looks for a growth spurt in Concacaf Nations League

DENVER — Judging by club affiliation and youthful wow factor, Coach Gregg Berhalter could make a solid case his U.S. men’s national soccer team roster for the Concacaf Nations League is the strongest in a lifetime.

Not only are his players employed by some of the sport’s biggest pro brands, they are posting robust minutes and winning trophies, and they’re doing it at the age of college students.

For all their individual accomplishments across Europe, though, the U.S. artists have not won anything of consequence for their country. On either side of the coronavirus pandemic shutdown, they have played a whole lot of friendlies.
