Unbeaten U.S. men’s soccer team has an Olympic berth within reach

The U.S. under-23 national soccer team has up to three matches remaining at the Olympic men’s qualifying tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico.

By winning their first two games, the Americans clinched a place in the Concacaf semifinals, which will determine the region’s two representatives at the Summer Games in Tokyo.

The United States will complete group play Wednesday against Mexico (9:30 p.m. Eastern time on Fox Sports 1), but with both teams having already secured passage, the match is for seeding purposes only. The Mexicans also won their first two matches and lead the United States on goal differential, meaning a draw would be enough for them to finish first.
