Tuesday kickaround: Jozy Altidore will miss Copa America

Another major tournament, another hamstring injury for Jozy Altidore.

The oft-injured U.S. national team striker will miss Copa America Centenario with a strained hamstring. His MLS club, Toronto FC, announced Monday that he will be sidelined six to eight weeks by an injury that occurred while taking a penalty kick last weekend.

Altidore is fifth on the U.S. scoring charts with 29 goals in 85 appearances, one goal behind Brian McBride. He is only 26 years old; it only seems as though he is much older.

Altidore injured a hamstring during the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, pulled a hamstring in the opening match of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and missed the 2015 Gold Cup after a similar setback left ahead of the tournament him unfit for competition.
