Recap: Loudoun unable to crack Pittsburgh defense in 1-0 loss.

The chances of Loudoun United coming out of Pittsburgh’s Highmark Stadium with three points had to be considered long; the hosts, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC have lost twice since the beginning of 2018. Loudoun seemed to be on their way to another decisive loss after an early goal but continued to play ball and threatened in what was ultimately a 1-0 loss in front of 4,078.

In the fifth minute, Nico Brett was able to chip a ball to Steevan Dos Santos, who had been abandoned by his marker Collin Verfurth. Dos Santos put a left footed shot past Earl Edwards Jr on the right side for a 1-0 lead.
