D.C. United said Monday that several smartphones, as well as some cash, belonging to players and staff were stolen from the team locker room during a CONCACAF Champions League match last week in Mexico.
Queretaro FC said Tuesday that it did not happen — not at the stadium, at least.
In a statement posted on its Twitter page, the Mexican club concluded that, after investigating the allegations, the phones were probably stolen before the team arrived; that United had the only key to the locker room; and that security cameras detected nothing unusual.
