D.C. United on Tuesday fired Ally Mackay, its general manager and chief soccer officer, in a move that came a little over two months after the July dismissal of coach Troy Lesesne.

“As part of a comprehensive review of the club’s soccer operations, D.C. United has decided to move forward with a new approach,” the team said in a statement.
