He worked security for the U.S. women, then chased a world title with the paralympic team

Sunday had turned into Monday, and the U.S. women’s soccer celebration last weekend was still raging in Lyon, France.

At 4:30 a.m., though, Seth Jahn was bleary eyed and on his way to the airport, marking the end of a four-month assignment on the national team’s security detail. He had become part of the family, a conspicuous presence in the famous delegation, an occasional player at practice and, ultimately, an expert sprayer of champagne in the dressing room after the 2-0 championship victory over the Netherlands.

Now, he was off to compete for his own world title.
