Griffin Yow signs Homegrown deal, 2019 Hall of Fame candidates announced, and more: Freedom Kicks for March 20, 2019

Welcome to Wednesday, everyone. Some nice news in D.C. United land yesterday, so let’s get started:

16-year-old Griffin Yow becomes the 12th Homegrown Player in D.C. United history, signing the deal today. He scored the first goal in Loudoun United’s history and will be looking to do a lot more in his career both for Loudoun and for the Black-and-Red.

D.C. United connections on the list of candidates include former president Kevin Payne and current coach Ben Olsen, who is in his final year of eligibility under the Players category.

Jason Kreis is tabbed with the challenge of getting the USMNT U-23s to the Olympics, a competition for which they have failed to qualify the past two tournaments.
