For 10 years, Tally Hall has made a living stopping shots. Now, he’s going to stop bad guys.
The longtime MLS goalkeeper, who joined D.C. United this spring but did not make any appearances, will announce his retirement Friday. He is not expected to go into detail about his future plans, but multiple sources said he plans to pursue a career in law enforcement.
With starter Bill Hamid and back-up Andrew Dykstra recovered from long-term injuries, United signed Hall, 31, on April 1 to provide a veteran presence behind second-year pro Travis Worra. Worra performed well enough to keep the starting job until Hamid returned in late May from a knee ailment.
