Following deal with Atlanta United, D.C. United signs Yamil Asad on loan from Velez Sarsfield

Bolstering an attack that struggled throughout last season, D.C. United has officially acquired midfielder Yamil Asad in a complicated deal. To acquire his MLS rights, the Black-and-Red will send $200,000 in General Allocation Money and $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money in 2018, and an additional $100,000 in GAM and in TAM to Atlanta United in 2019. Atlanta will also receive $100,000 in GAM if Asad plays even one MLS match in the 2020 season. On top of that, United had to agree to loan terms (including an option to buy his contract) with Velez Sarsfield.
