Euro 2020 match suspended after Danish star Christian Eriksen collapses on the field

Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field in the 43rd minute of Saturday’s Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland in Copenhagen. Eriksen, 29, was administered chest compressions on the field as his teammates surrounded him, and taken off on a stretcher more than 15 minutes later. The match, at the time a scoreless draw, was suspended following the incident.

Eriksen was jogging up the field before he stumbled and fell forward. Players and referees immediately gestured for medical attention.

Players and spectators appeared to be in shock as Eriksen was treated on the pitch. His teammates shielded him and Eriksen appeared to be conscious as he was carted off.
