D.C. United top scorer Christian Benteke seems poised to return from a one-game injury absence to play Saturday, a major boost for a club that failed to convert several chances last week and is averaging barely a goal per game.
The outlook is not quite as bright for winger João Peglow, whose hamstring strain is expected to sideline him at least one more match. Meantime, Benteke’s backup, Dominique Badji, is dealing with a muscle strain and might not be available.
Benteke and Peglow, who have combined for seven of the team’s 11 goals, missed the 3-0 loss at Philadelphia last Saturday, a game in which their replacements squandered scoring opportunities in the first half.
