D.C. United makes it official, acquires Oniel Fisher

D.C. United made it official today, acquiring fullback Oniel Fisher from the Seattle Sounders for $50,000 in General Allocation Money. The 26-year old Fisher played in 27 games since being drafted in the second round of the 2015 MLS Superdraft, though almost half (12) of those appearances came in the first season. Fisher is currently in Florida and trained with the team today.

Fisher provides speed to both fullback positions and some younger depth to it, compared to years past. With left back and right back seemingly solved for the time being in Taylor Kemp and Nick DeLeon, respectively, Fisher would provide capable defense should either falter (Kemp resumed full training this week after undergoing season-ending surgery last August).
