D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid to miss 5-6 weeks with hamstring injury

Bill Hamid, D.C. United’s starting goalkeeper, will miss five to six weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in the first half Wednesday in Columbus, Coach Hernán Losada said Friday.

Hamid’s setback comes with United enjoying its best stretch of the season — unbeaten in four straight and 3-1-2 in the past six matches — and will probably sideline him seven games.

Jon Kempin, a career backup who has started three times this year, is expected to replace Hamid, beginning Sunday night against CF Montreal at Audi Field. Chris Seitz (four starts) would move into the No.
