Confirming a long-help rumor, D.C. United announced today that they have been in discussions with Loudoun County to locate their team offices, practice, youth development, and division 2 team facilities in the County. The proposed location is Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park in Leesburg, which is minutes from the Dulles Greenway and about an hour from their new home stadium at Audi Field.
In their statement, the team notes that a small stadium for a division two team would be built on the west side of the park, but the team noted to Black and Red United that no determination about any leagues in which that team would play or any names or starting dates have been determined.
