First reported by SB Nation’s Portland Timbers blog Stumptown Footy, sources have since told us that D.C. United has acquired forward Darren Mattocks from the Timbers in exchange for an international roster spot in 2018. Sources also tell us that the team has signed him for the 2018 season.
The 27-year-old appeared in 24 games for the Timbers, starting 11, and scored 4 goals and two assists in 2017, and scored 5 goals and 5 assists in 43 games (23 starts) for Portland since being acquired from the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2016, where he had 19 goals in 93 games.
