Christian Pulisic will rejoin USMNT for 1st time since World Cup qualifying failure

CHESTER, PA. — Christian Pulisic, U.S. soccer’s teenager star, will rejoin the national team for the May 28 friendly against Bolivia, his first appearance since the Americans failed to qualify for the World Cup last fall.

Dave Sarachan, the interim coach, said Wednesday that the 19-year-old attacker from German club Borussia Dortmund plans to report to training camp in Philadelphia following Dortmund’s friendly at MLS’s Los Angeles FC on May 22. It remains undecided, however, whether the Hershey, Pa., native will remain with the U.S. squad for friendlies at Ireland and France in early June.

“He loves the national team,” Sarachan said, “and I think he’s chomping at the bit to get it right.
